At first sight these look good quality- they have an attractive black rubber finish and the shape and layout of the buttons and sticks feels comfortable. Unfortunately in actually using the pad, things started to go downhill- the buttons felt very ‘clangy’, and lo behold after just a few hours of playing, one of the shoulder buttons started to stick and required repeated pressing to make it pop out again. To add to that, there is a problem with the drivers in Windows 7 which cause every game to throw up a “this game has not shutdown properly” popup, even though it does seem to have shut down OK. It could be that I’ve been unlucky and just got a duff item, as very similar Hama pads do get some good reviews (on Amazon Germany, the Hama PC-Gamepad “Double Action Air Grip” and the Hama PC-USB-Gamepad “Whitestorm”), however, a significant number of users there also seem to have encountered quality control and driver issues.
